The location of the stock exhaust outlet on Arctic Cat 800/900 Mountain Cats is too far forward, as a result the Mountain Cat has a tendency to plug off when riding in deep powder or sidehilling to the right. This plugging results in a severe engine bog and power loss. This new transfer tube kit substantially reduces this plugging tendency by utilizing a secondary "transfer" tube outlet. This transfer tube outlet is located 14 inches behind the stock outlet. This position is directly in front of the running board which is higher and further from the snow than the stock outlet position. The stock outlet is retained and flows the majority of exhaust in normal riding conditions. When the stock outlet gets plugged in deep snow, the transfer tube outlet flows enough exhaust to keep the motor running at its peak rather than bogging down.
